STLSpecial

Convert 3D files between STL, OBJ, 3MF, PLY and GLB. Convert one file or a whole folder at once, and resize on the way. Everything runs in your browser, so your files are never uploaded.

How to convert 3D files

  1. Add your filesDrop STL, OBJ, 3MF or PLY files on the converter. You can add one file or a whole folder.
  2. Pick a formatChoose STL, STL ASCII, 3MF, OBJ, GLB or PLY, and change the scale if you need a different size.
  3. DownloadClick Convert. One file downloads straight away; several files come together in one ZIP.

Which format should I pick?

STL works in every slicer. 3MF is smaller and the native format of Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer and OrcaSlicer.

OBJ is for Blender and other 3D apps, GLB for websites, AR and game engines, and PLY for MeshLab and 3D scans.

Resize while you convert

Set the scale to 200% to double the size or 50% to halve it. Each file shows its size, so you can work out the exact scale you need.

A model made in meters can be fixed with 100000%, which turns meters into millimeters.

Convert many files at once

Drop a whole set of parts, pick one format, and get them all back in a single ZIP with their original names. Handy for kits and multi-part models.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded?

No. Your files are converted by your browser on your own device and never sent to our server. That also makes it fast, even for large files.

Which formats can I convert?

You can open STL (binary and ASCII), OBJ, 3MF and PLY files, and save them as STL, STL ASCII, 3MF, OBJ, GLB or PLY.

Can I convert several files at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you like and they are converted one after another. When there is more than one, they download together as a ZIP.

Are colors and textures kept?

No. The converter keeps the shape of the model, which is what slicers need. Colors, textures, painted areas and print settings are not carried over.

Why is my GLB model so small?

GLB files use meters and Y pointing up, so a 100 mm model is saved as 0.1 m. That is the correct size, and apps like Blender and web viewers read it that way.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no file limit and no watermark.
