Convert 3D files between STL, OBJ, 3MF, PLY and GLB. Convert one file or a whole folder at once, and resize on the way. Everything runs in your browser, so your files are never uploaded.
How to convert STL to 3MF
- Add your STLDrop one STL or a whole set of parts. Binary and ASCII STL files both work.
- Check 3MF is selected3MF is picked for you. Change the scale if you need a different size.
- Download your 3MFClick Convert. Each STL becomes its own 3MF, with several files coming back in a ZIP.
Why use 3MF?
3MF is the native format of Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer and OrcaSlicer. It stores real millimeter units, so a model always opens at the right size.
It is also compressed, so a 3MF is usually much smaller than the same model as STL.
Ready for your slicer
The model is saved sitting on the build plate, so it opens flat and ready to slice.
The 3MF holds the model only. Add your printer, filament and print settings in your slicer as usual.
Smaller files to share
Shared vertices are stored once instead of three times, and the file is zipped. Large, detailed models often shrink to a fraction of their STL size.
Frequently asked questions
Will Bambu Studio open the 3MF?
Yes. The file uses the standard 3MF format, which Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, Cura and Windows 3D apps all open.
Is a 3MF file smaller than STL?
Usually yes. 3MF stores each corner of the model once and compresses the file, so it is often much smaller than a binary STL.
Can I combine several STL files into one 3MF?
Not yet. Each STL is converted into its own 3MF. You can open them together in your slicer and save one project from there.
Does the 3MF include print settings?
No. It contains the model only, so you choose your printer, filament and settings in your slicer.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Your files are converted by your browser on your own device and never sent to our server. That also makes it fast, even for large files.
